DBS Monthly Meetings and Jams - 2010
The DBS Monthly Meetings and Jams are generally held on the 2nd Saturday of the month in January-May and September-December. They alternate locations between Memphis Smoke in Royal Oak and Callahan's Music Hall in Auburn Hills. Those 2 clubs were selected because of their size and because of their committment to Blues Music in Metro Detroit.

The Monthly Meeting and Jams were re-formatted and re-introduced in 2007 in order to:
1) Rotate Detroit based Blues acts, without repeat, into the host band position.
2) To re-focus the jam on non-pro's, giving hobbyists a chance to interact and perform with many of Detroit's top pros and to just show off a bit.
3) To return the Detroit Blues Society focus back to local musicians.
4) Eliminate much of the percieved "preferential treatment" in host band selection.
