Detroit Blues Society (DBS) is a registered federal 501(c)(3)
non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation, education,
and advancement of the blues tradition, as it relates to the
Metro-Detroit area. It has as its primary goals, to promote a wider
appreciation for the Blues
by the general public and
to serve the members of the Society.

Detroit Loses A
Legend
The legendary bluesman
& guitarist, Jesse Blades passed recently. Jesse was known for
his harmonica, guitar, & bass playing for his
many years of working weekly gigs with Yancy's S.T.Y.J.B. Band
at The New Al's Olympia Bar in Detroit and the former Attic
Bar with Sweet Claudette & Friends in
Hamtramck.
Jesse Blades was a featured
guitarist on the 1998 Blue Suit Records Hasting Street Grease
CD, playing on tracks with Harmonica Shah and the late Willie
D. Warren. Jesse also played on Sweet Claudette's 2000 B 4
Reel Records Aint Gonna Wash Your Dirty Clothes CD (later
reissued by No Cover Productions).
