Opportunities
The
following are guidelines for the selection of Detroit Blues
Society Members wishing to volunteer for
events:
- Only DBS Members
may volunteer.
- All regular, free, events may be staffed with ANY
qualified volunteer, regardless of how many volunteer hours
that they have accumulated.
- Any premium,
charged, events (Heatstock, Scarab Club, Antifreeze, Hot
Blues) must first be staffed with volunteers that have
accumulated the most service hours (upper 25% of all
volunteers). After this requirement has been exhausted,
volunteers may be chosen based upon how many volunteer
hours that they have accumulated, starting with the most to
the least.
- Any charged
events will cost volunteers 50% of the ticketed price
regardless of how many volunteer hours that they have
accumulated. The Detroit Blues Society will cover the
remaining 50% balance
- Generally there
shall be no more than 5 volunteers (including Captain) for
each regular event. Festivals should generally be scheduled
with 2 volunteers per 2-hour shift. (6 volunteers for a
12-hour festival, etc.)
- The Volunteer
Chair, using the above guidelines will make the final
determination of eligibility. This shall be done without
nepotism or “playing favorites”.
